This is about as good as October gets around here. The National Weather Service in Paducah expects sunshine every day this week, cool nights and comfortable afternoons.
Tonight: Clear and chilly. Lows in the lower 40s with a light east wind.
Monday: Sunny, with highs in the mid 70s.
Tuesday: Sunny again, highs in the mid 70s. Lows both Monday and Tuesday nights in the mid 40s.
Wednesday through Friday: Clear to mostly clear, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the upper 40s.
Saturday: Mostly clear and warm, with highs around 80.
With no rain in the forecast, it should be a good week for harvest, yard work and Friday night football. Just remember those 40 degree mornings and dress the kids in layers for the bus stop.
River stage: The river at Cairo was at 19.4 feet Sunday and is falling. The Weather Service expects it to drop to about 16.1 feet by Friday. Flood stage is 40 feet.
